Hi-Top Sneaker

Growing up idolizing Michael Jordan, I loved hi-top sneakers. They were the epitome of cool and a staple item in my wardrobe for many years. As I grew older, my love for hi-tops remained by my aesthetics were changing. I was less into the saturated colors and stark patterns normally emblazoned on these designs.

So for this project, I wanted to lean into that. Take a super sporty 3D shoe model and transform it into something softer and more stylish through the use of colors and materials.

To be clear, I had never done shoe design before this project. For anyone trying to design something outside their comfort zone, the secret weapon is reference imagery. Focus on the details. Where are there stitches? Which direction does the pattern lay? Where are there subtle color differences? This is the stuff that adds that extra level of believability.
